YIP-YIP:
Yip-Yip were formed by Brian Esser and Jason Temple in Longwood, Florida suburb of
Orlando. Their first CD 1 was recorded between March 31 and June 31 of 2001 and 100
copies were self-released on CD-R July 1 of 2001. It consisted of thirty five tracks and was
mostly experiments with electronic equipment, effects boxes,small toys, and keyboards.
After the release of 1, they recorded and released their second cd, Skills. Skills was limited
to 150 CD-R copies. Their transformation from a recording project to a live band began on
January 18th, 2003 when they played their first live show. Yip-Yip then began recording
their EP, High Heel to Mammal, which was the precursor to their latest release Pro-Twelve
Thinker. Pro-Twelve Thinker was first self-released as a CD-R on December 12, 2003 and
was limited to 300 copies. Yip-Yip has played shows in florida with acts like Animal
Collective, Funkstorung, Doormouse, IQU and has toured the East Coast with
An Albatross, the Cinema Eye, and Zom Zoms. On July 15 2004, Yip-Yip was chosen by
Orlando Weekly as "Best Electronic Act". Recent full page feature in CMJ Monthly.
